Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services Update
Posted on
We wanted to update everyone on how our service will continue to run during the coming months in relation to COVID-19.
Drug and Alcohol Staff continue to be at work at this time allowing us to continue to offer support to everyone in service.
Face to face appointments have been changed to telephone contact and we will be in a position to offer additional telephone contact to any individuals accessing our service if required.
Our Harm Reduction service continues to operate providing Injecting Equipment and Nyxoid to all those who access this service. They can also be contacted by telephone and offer support to anyone who is concerned about their own or another’s drug or alcohol use. We are also adapting how we engage with individuals who may not be able to access the team as normal due to self-isolation.
Provision of Nyxoid is also continuing across all our teams as we are keen to ensure the safety of all those who we are working with.
Access to Opiate Substitute Treatment remains a priority. We have adapted our assessment process to allow us to deliver this over the telephone and we will ensure that there are no additional barriers to individuals getting into treatment in a timely manner as normal.
We will continue to signpost individuals to additional support services as normal. We have included a list of these numbers/websites below. Our Homeless nursing team are continuing to work with our Housing Colleagues in supporting individuals who are residing in temporary accommodation or Houses of Multiple Occupancy.
Should you have any concerns about how to access our service during this time please call 01463 716888 and we will give advice.
