  • Action For Children, Gael Og Youth Support Service

    Action for hildren logo

    Action for Children Scotland’s Gael Og Probation service provide intensive support to young people who are involved in offending behaviour, have substance misuse issues, display high risk behaviour, are accommodated, have housing/homelessness issues or are otherwise vulnerable. Young people are provided with a wide range of support services to help them to make positive changes in their lives.

  • Alateen

    Al Anon Family Groups UK and Eire logo

    Alateen is part of Al-Anon for teenage relatives and friends of alcoholics. Meetings are for 12-17 year olds to help and support each other by sharing their experiences of having, or having had, a problem drinker in their lives.

  • Barnardo’s Springboard

    Barnardos Llogo

    The Barnardo’s Springboard service offers throughcare and aftercare support to young people in the Highland Council area aged 16 to 25 who are leaving care or who have been in care. The main Springboard office base is in Inverness and there are project workers based in Fort William and Wick.

  • Barnardo’s Supported Lodgings

    Barnardos logo

    Supported Lodgings are when people and families (sometimes called ‘hosts’) offer to rent a room to a young person leaving care. The host will offer the young person practical and emotional support with a view to increasing their confidence and readiness to move into their own home.

  • Caithness Family Support Group

    Caithness Family Support Group offers advice and information to those who may have someone in their life with problematic drug or alcohol issues. They offer strictest confidence at all times to those who would like to ask for their support.

  • Caithness Mental Health Support Group

    Caithness Mental Health Support Group logo

    Caithness Mental Health Support Group aim to promote mental wellbeing and reduce social isolation by providing a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment where individuals can connect, grow in confidence, and access meaningful support and activities that enhance their quality of life. The group run two centres; one in Wick, and the other in Thurso.

  • Calman Trust

    Calman Trust logo

    The Calman Trust offers training opportunities for young people aged 15-25, who are at risk of being left behind as a result of their personal challenges, to become confident and capable young adults. Young people are offered opportunities to learn essential life skills such as how to cook and look after their health and wellbeing as well as supported work experience in Café Artysans to help prepare them for the world of work.

  • Connecting Young Carers

    Connecting Young Carers logo

    An information service for Young Carers, aged 5-18, whose lives are affected by having to care for someone in the family with a physical or mental illness, disability or drug or alcohol problems. Connecting Young Carers works to ensure that Young Carers have the same opportunities as other young people, that their rights are upheld and that they are seen, heard and supported. Support is also offered to Young Adult Carers, aged 18-24.

  • Ewen’s Room

    Ewen's Room logo

    Ewen’s Room provides support to those experiencing mental health problems, whilst actively seeking to challenge the associated stigma. A number of services are offered to support young people and adults resident in Lochaber, and beyond.

    The NHS Highland, Highland Alcohol and Drug Advice and Support Service (HADASS) provide a drop-in service for:

    • needle exchange
    • specialised equipment
    • harm reduction advice
    • support
    • information and testing

    Drop-in sessions run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am-2pm.

  • Nar-Anon UK

    Nar-Anon logo

    Nar-Anon is a 12-step program designed to help relatives and friends of addicts recover from the effects of living with an addicted relative or friend using their Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions programme of Recovery. Nar-Anon UK is run by its members, with each group set up by the family and friends of addicts offering compassion, support, and practical insights into all aspects of this challenging experience.

    Virtual meetings run on a Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

  • Youth Action Service

    Youth Action Service is a multi-agency service to young people who are offending, at risk of offending or have substance use issues. They offer substance use programmes, offending behaviour programmes, family support programmes, general support and information. The service is made up of two teams:
