Chair: JACI DOUGLAS

Cllr Douglas was elected to Highland Council in May 2007 as Independent Councillor and sits on Highland Council's Education, Culture & Sport and Gaelic Committees as well as the Children's Panel Advisory Comittee and the Highland Award Project. Cllr. Douglas is Chair of Badenoch & Strathspey Drug and Alcohol Forum, Children's champion for INBS and Transitions Group for the Highland Council and is also a member for the Cairngorm National Park Authority.

Vice Chair: DAVID ABERNETHY

Mr Abernethy is Governor of Porterfield Prison, Inverness having taken up this post in March of this year. Prior to this he was Deputy Governor at Barlinnie Prison.

Director of Social Work: HARRIET DEMPSTER

Ms Dempster's role as Director of Social Work involves reporting to the Joint Children's Committee; chairing the Highland Youth Strategy Group; Vice Chair of the Child Protection Committee and chair of the Highland Family Alliance.

Director of Community Care : JAN BAIRD

as Director of Community Care for NHS Highland Jan Baird has a lead role within the operational division of NHS Highland and involves forging links between strategy and implementation and supporting operational developments across NHS Highland through the emerging structure of Community Health Partnerships.

Director of Education, Culture & Sport: HUGH FRASER

Mr Fraser was appointed to the post in March 2007, at which time he was the Council's Head of Support Services, since 2002. He was Assistant Divisional Education Officer for Inverness and appointed Area Education manager for Ross and Cromarty in 1999.

Director of Public Health -

Cathy Steer, Head of Health Improvement, NHS Highland currently sits on this Group pending appointment of the new Director of Public Health. Cathy is Head of Health Improvement for NHS Highland.
