ALCOHOL FOCUS SCOTLAND report on number of licensed premises linked to alcohol-related illnesses and deaths. The study investigated the links between alcohol outlet availability and health outcomes across the whole of Scotland. The researcher used Scottish 'datazones' - 6,505 small areas representing neighbourhoods. They compared the number of alcohol outlets within each neighbourhood with records of alcohol-related hospitalisation and deaths there.
