Community Psychiatrict Nurses  Substance Misuse

The CPN service provides full assessment and treatment plans to individuals with a drug or alcohol problem. Interventions offered include: home detoxification, substitute prescribing, motivational interviewing, relapse management and joint/ family counselling.

  • Addictions Counselling Inverness (formerly Alcohol Counselling Inverness) is a voluntary organisation which supports individuals who may be experiencing problems with addiction. We also provide individuals and interested organisations with information and advice on addiction and alcohol & drugs issues.We offer free, confidential, one-to-one counselling delivered by trained volunteer counsellors. Our counselling is “person-centred” and based on recognised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques. Most of our clients phone up and make their own appointments, while others are referred by GPs, social work, employers and other care agencies such as Osprey House. We provide both daytime and evening counselling sessions at our premises, 70 Tomnahurich Street, close to the city centre. Alcohol and drug awareness training and education can be provided by ACI staff and volunteers through information sessions and workshops. ACI also carries a range of information sheets, pamphlets and booklets that are available on request to the general public.

NA is a non profit fellowship of men and women for whom drugs has become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help eachother stay clean (Age 16+)
