NEW TRAINING TO HELP REDUCE DRUG DEATHS IN INVERNESS

A new training session is being piloted in Inverness to teach drug users and their families and friends how to recognise the signs of an overdose, the importance of calling emergency services and what to do to help that person with basic life support. They will also be given Naloxone, an antidote to opiate drugs and taught how to administer it.

 ALCOHOL IN SCOTLAND

Changing our Drinking Culture

The conference will begin by addressing the merits of the Alcohol Etc (Scotland) Bill and why the drinking culture in Scotland is a pressing issue.  Speakers will focus on the legislative strategies to combat alcohol culture and what impact such initiatives as minumum pricing will have on the drinking customs and our health.

Session Highlight. Hear from Nicola Sturgeon MSP on why she thinks the alcohol Etc.  (Scotland) Bill will positively affect Scotland's drinking culture.
